This is an illustration from the book Ivy and the Inky Butterfly by Johanna Basford. The story is lovely, the artwork is enchanting. I hope to complete colouring this book, it’s so captivating.
The UK version of Ivy is also available in North America. The paper in the US version has a bit more texture, binding is glue. The paper in the UK version is smoother and biding is sewn.
I used my Prismacolor Premier 150 set on this drawing. I wanted a fresh and delicate palette, and this set has many pastel tonalities, like deco yellow, powder blue, cloud blue, light green and lavender. I enjoy working on the smaller compositions, it’s faster to complete. This blooming heart is so joyful! ❤
