This inspired illustration comes from the book Art Nouveau Animal Designs published by Creative Haven. I scanned the image and printed in a separate page of card stock.
To colour, I used only Guang Hui pencils, also named Hero or Wanshui. Those are budget-friendly pencils that are smooth on paper and very pleasant to work with. I really like them because the pigment fills easily the paper’s texture, not leaving any white areas. You don’t need a blender with those pencils. As student pencils, they are a smart choice – good blending and affordable. However, don’t expect longevity – colours will fade with time, specially reds, pinks and purples. They are great to practice or just colour to relax with some coffee and lovely colouring books.
