This illustration is from the book from Romantic Country: The Second Tale by Eriy. There are three books in this series, and each one has beautiful drawings about an enchanted world.

I had fun working on this one, it is a lovely image and the details are not too small. This book’s paper is quite smooth, there is almost no texture and the pencils really flow. I’ve tested different ones and found out that soft pencils work better with this paper.

For the illustration, I used mostly Holbein Coloured Pencils and Polychromos Faber-Castell. The background was coloured using Derwent Coloursoft Pencils, they are really great for larger areas and for a smooth, even texture. To complete, I like to add little details with Posca Pens.
